Mid April Updates

Hey everyone,
I hope you're holding up and staying well. It has become a pattern that the chaos is unending and we do not get a chance to breath. I've read several perspectives which state that this is on purpose and it is a psychological method to keep people overextended and in despair.
What I would like to tell you is that it's OK to feel overwhelmed. It's OK to feel despair. I also want to tell you that you're not alone, and this is not the end. We can fight back! We have work to do! We have each other and we'll get through this.

I'm trying a new RSVP method, and I'll include the Zoom Link in the Newsletters too. The Zoom Link is also available on the FLPU Events listing for the event.

National Day of Action - April 25th

Detention Watch Network is sponsoring a National Day of Action to fight back against ICE Warehouse Detention Centers.

This action is still being planned, so just mark your calendars and be sure to keep watch for updates!

Monthly Meeting

Virtual - Tuesday 4/14 @ 7:30PM ET

Our Monthly Meeting, which we will use to go over April's Actions and talk about our plans for May. This is our time to come together in community and talk about what matters to us!

May Day

Geneva - Tuesday 5/1 @ 12:00PM ET

FLPU is partnering with PSL for a Walk Out and Rally on May Day (5/1) for International Workers' Day. The goal is for a all-day walk out on school, work, and shopping. To support everyone where they're at, we know not everyone can leave walk out all day, so we are hosting a Rally at Noon in Geneva (More details to come) to give people the option for a half-day action. If you can't leave work at all, we have social media posts and other options to support the movement! Everyone can be involved with as much or as little investment as fits your life.
Details are still being worked out, so be sure to RSVP and mark your calendars!

I'm proud of you for getting here. This is not an easy or comfortable road to follow. I'm glad we're together in this. I say it often, but I do mean it: please reach out to me. If you want to talk, voice concerns, ask questions, or tell me about your weekend, I'm here.
Yes, these are scary times. We'll get through it together. We have each other, and with our work, more will join us.
